Remote Financial Controller

Summary

The Financial Controller will oversee the financial operations and ensure the integrity of financial reporting for Last Mile Health, based in the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. This position is open to candidates who do not require any paid sponsorship or unsponsored work authorization in the US.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and donor compliance
• Significant experience coordinating external audit activities
• Demonstrated years of experience with financial software and ERP systems
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board, or other outside partners

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate US GAAP standards and other regulatory requirements
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the entire organization
• Review and approve US-based financial transactions
• Maintain internal control and safeguards for revenue, expenditures, and statutory compliance
• Manage all external audits
• Develop organization-wide financial policies and procedures to guide country finance teams
• Oversee the usage and maintenance of financial systems and software
• Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Manage and mentor the finance team, help to clarify roles and responsibilities, and develop and implement training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals
• Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization to promote understanding of financial policies and processes
• Promote collaboration and effective communication within the finance team and across the organization

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or Master’s degree in Accounting
• Progressive years of experience in financial management, preferably in the NGO or nonprofit sector

Benefits

Compensation for this position: The Band for this position: SLB-5. For the United States , the range is USD $101,992- $118,531 dependent upon experience doing an equivalent role
