Financial Counsellor

Summary

Join Partners in Wellbeing as a part-time Financial Counsellor until June 2025! This work-from-home position offers a competitive hourly rate ($49.50 - $52.55) plus superannuation and generous salary packaging benefits. You will provide free, confidential financial support to flood-impacted small business owners in Victoria. Responsibilities include assessing financial situations, offering solutions, advocating for clients, and collaborating with other services. The ideal candidate will possess a Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling), relevant experience, and professional membership with Financial Counselling Victoria.

Requirements

• A fully completed Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) with a minimum of 2 years of working experience
• Professional membership with Financial Counselling Victoria (FCVic)
• Demonstrated competence and experience in an area of clinical practice with clients with multiple or complex needs

Responsibilities

• Provide free, confidential, and independent support to financially disadvantaged and vulnerable Flood-impacted Small Business Owners in Victoria, helping them set financial goals, manage their financial situations, and develop strategies to reduce future financial difficulties
• Assess financial situations, offering information and options, assisting with advocacy and negotiation, and providing comprehensive casework and liaison with legal and financial institutions
• Coordinate responses through collaboration with allied services, participate in community and state-wide activities, and maintain accurate client data

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of the Small Business units on FCVic portal
• Awareness of disaster recovery specific case work
• Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector, or an appreciation and understanding of community organisations and their operation
