Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a financial analyst or in a similar role, preferably in the mortgage industry
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting principles, GAAP, and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis using tools such as Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data, trends, and performance indicators to provide insights to management
  • Prepare variance analysis and explain key drivers affecting financial results
  • Prepare and assist in the production of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable regulations
  • Compile and validate financial data from various sources to support reporting requirements
  • Conduct thorough data checks to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare and distribute financial reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Customize reports to meet specific needs and requirements of different audiences
  • Collaborate with finance and business teams to contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Provide input on financial assumptions and projections
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and provide decision support to management
  • Assist in special projects as assigned by senior leadership
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Implement best practices to streamline reporting workflows
