Summary

Join REGENT's team as a Fight Controls Engineer Intern and contribute to the development of the seaglider, an all-electric flying machine that will transport commercial passengers. As an intern, you'll work on developing control law algorithms for the seaglider, utilizing high-fidelity simulations and live-flight testing to validate and verify your control systems.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a BS/MS in Mechanical, Robotics, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related engineering discipline with a focus on controls
  • Passion for aviation, aerospace, electrical and/or nautical vehicle design and development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of fundamentals – engineering math, dynamics, numeric methods
  • Algorithm development in MATLAB/Simulink
  • C/C++ Embedded software development experience

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing control law algorithms for REGENT's seagliders
  • Utilizing high-fidelity simulations and live-flight testing to validate and verify control systems
  • Working closely with aero, hydro, and mechanical engineers designing control surfaces; systems engineers developing requirements; and test engineers creating verification and validation procedures
