Summary
Join Tailscale's growing FP&A team as a strategic, data-driven member, reporting directly to the VP of Finance. You will play a key role in shaping the financial planning process, informing go-to-market strategy, and driving strategic insights as the company scales. Partner with GTM leaders to analyze business performance and drive insights on resource allocation, ROI, and growth opportunities. Develop and refine frameworks for key initiatives, streamline procurement processes, and serve as the primary finance partner to the Partnerships team. Prepare data-backed presentations for executives, the board, and investors. This is an opportunity to join early and help shape the future of finance at Tailscale.
Requirements
- Have 4+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Strategic Finance, and/or FP&A at a high-growth startup (SaaS preferred)
- Strong financial modeling and Excel skills; SQL proficiency a plus
- Highly analytical with the ability to navigate fluidly between big-picture strategy and the data that drives it
- Have excellent cross-functional communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Responsibilities
- Partner with GTM leaders to analyze business performance and drive insights on resource allocation, ROI, and growth opportunities
- Develop and refine frameworks for key initiatives such as pricing and packaging, customer segmentation, and sales compensation
- Influence how we spend and invest throughout the company, including revamping our Marketing ROI frameworks and methodology
- Streamline and support procurement-related processes and vendor spend analysis to improve cost efficiency
- Serve as the primary finance partner to the Partnerships team, driving financial analysis, performance tracking, and strategic planning to support partner growth and monetization
- Partner with Revenue Operations to improve forecasting accuracy and pipeline visibility, ensuring alignment between financial plans and sales expectations
- Prepare clear, data-backed presentations and dashboards for the Executive Team, Board of Directors, and investors
