Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business discipline (e.g., math, statistics, finance, economics, engineering, or other quantitative fields)
  • 3+ years of relevant fraud analytics experience in the FinTech industry
  • Knowledge of fraud schemes, financially motivated cybercrime trends, fraud prevention methods, and fraud detection tools
  • Proficiency using SQL and working with relational databases
  • Proficiency using Python to analyze complex data sets, deriving actionable insights, and taking the initiative to affect change
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to succinctly and accurately present analyses and convey complex ideas to all audiences

Responsibilities

  • Establish key fraud performance metrics and develop automated reporting to monitor these KPIs
  • Develop and maintain fraud detection strategies and business rules that balance fraud loss and customer experience
  • Collaborate with a variety of partners within the company, such as product managers, platform engineers, compliance officers, and call center operations to identify emerging threats, collect and analyze data, and implement changes to protect the business and our customers against fraud
  • Apply advanced statistical techniques, algorithms, and industry tools to develop solutions that predict and prevent fraud risk
  • Build fraud risk-related variables based on trends in fraud attack vectors and insights from the data
  • Identify and evaluate potential third party fraud detection products
  • Lead deep-dive root cause analyses into fraud incidents
  • Communicate clear and concise actionable business strategies to senior management

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., math, statistics, analytics, finance, engineering, or other quantitative fields)
