Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 2 years of experience as a full-time Software Engineer
- Alternatively, 4 years of experience as a full-time Software Engineer without a Computer Science degree
- Demonstrated experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining high-impact software solutions
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to write clean, efficient code and deliver reliable software solutions
- Languages: Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Snowflake, Python, Spring boot and Typescript with a proven track record of developing robust, scalable applications
- Containerization Expertise: Experience with Docker and container orchestration, ensuring that applications are efficiently deployed and maintained
- Event Streaming: Deep understanding of Apache Kafka and the design of distributed, event-driven systems
- Data Management: Ability to handle large-scale datasets, with excellent knowledge of data pipelines and processing
- Data Analysis: Proven experience analyzing complex datasets to drive insights and decisions
- IoT Systems: Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining IoT solutions, with a focus on data stream management
- Pub/Sub Architecture: Expertise in building robust publication-subscription systems for real-time communications
- Cloud Mastery: Proven expertise in AWS cloud managed applications
Responsibilities
- Write and Maintain Code: Develop product or system-level code across the entire codebase, ensuring the software is built to scale, perform, and be easily maintained
- Lead and Influence Design: Participate in and lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders, making crucial decisions on technology choices that drive the architecture forward
- Ensure Code Quality: Conduct code reviews, providing feedback that ensures adherence to best practices, performance optimization, and maintainability
- Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to and evolve documentation and educational content as the product evolves, ensuring that technical clarity remains a priority as the team grows
- Solve Complex Problems: Triage, debug, and resolve system issues by analyzing the source of the problem, and its impact on the entire system, from hardware to network and services
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work in agile sprints with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, ensuring that product development is aligned with business objectives
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve system performance, refactor legacy code, and ensure our software scales seamlessly
Preferred Qualifications
- Frontend Framework: Angular
- CI/CD Pipeline Experience: Hands-on experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines
- Microservices Knowledge: Solid understanding of microservices architecture and best practices
- Security Focus: Awareness of security best practices, especially within IoT and distributed systems
- Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to influence, guide, and learn from others in a team setting
- Agile Tools: estimating and managing work with the agile method and with Jira workflows
