Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7+ years of combined experience
• Demonstrate experience with ArcGIS Pro to import, manipulate, query, and analyze geospatial data from various sources
• Possess expertise in geoprocessing tools to perform spatial analysis to derive insights from geographic data
• Be proficient in utilizing SQL, preferably PostGRES, to improve both geospatial analysis and data management capabilities
• Have experience in technical documentation by producing clear, user-friendly guides supporting GIS applications
• Have knowledge and experience with software testing of GIS applications to ensure accurate functionality, performance, and data handling

Responsibilities

• Shape projects that transform the management and support of geospatial data for The National Map
• Develop and deploy advanced public-facing mapping applications
• Manipulate and analyze geospatial data
• Ensure applications provide precise and valuable insights
• Produce clear, user-friendly guides supporting GIS applications
• Test GIS applications to ensure accurate functionality, performance, and data handling

Preferred Qualifications

• Have knowledge of Python, ArcPy to automate workflows and custom analysis for efficient execution
• Be familiar with operating in the AWS cloud-based computing environment
