Summary

Join our team as a GIS Developer and contribute to a conservation data platform. This remote position requires a strong background in GIS development using both open-source and ESRI technologies. You will work within a cross-functional Agile team, developing performant GIS applications and data pipelines. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience with various GIS software, web mapping frameworks, and programming languages, particularly Python. Experience with large geospatial datasets and spatial analysis is crucial. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaboration within the team.

Requirements

  • Overall 6 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, geography, geosciences, or related field
  • 5+ years working with GIS software, including open-source and COTS GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, MapServer, GeoServer, GRASS GIS, etc.)
  • 3+ years developing with open-source and COTS web mapping frameworks including ESRI JavaScript API, Leaflet, OpenLayers, and MapLibre
  • 3+ years writing Python for geospatial analysis and automation (including open-source and ESRI geospatial libraries)
  • Experience with open-source GIS frameworks required
  • Experience with FME and/or other ETL technologies
  • Experience working with large natural resources or scientific geospatial datasets
  • Experience working with raster datasets and their derivatives
  • Experience with spatial analysis, statistical analysis, and/or geospatial data modeling
  • Experience writing Postgres/PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial, or Oracle Spatial backend queries
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop performant GIS applications displaying results of analytical modeling
  • Assist with design and development of geospatial data delivery pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing with geospatial AI/ML technologies
  • Experience with Voyager Search
  • Experience with Docker and developing applications within an AWS environment
  • Experience with RStudio, .NET Core, Typescript, and/or React
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other dashboard technologies for data science visualization and reporting
  • SAFe certification or experience working in an agile environment
