Summary
Join Intersect Power's fully remote GIS team as a GIS Specialist and contribute to the growth of the GIS Department. You will leverage geospatial data and technology to support projects, operations, and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include developing maps and visualizations, collaborating on interactive maps and web applications, maintaining web maps and AGOL applications, managing GIS requests, and conducting spatial analysis. The ideal candidate possesses an undergraduate degree in GIS or a related field (or an unrelated field with GISP certification) and 2+ years of GIS experience. Experience with ESRI software, shapefiles, geodatabases, and spatial analysis is crucial. Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in GIS or related field or an undergraduate degree in an unrelated field with a GISP certification
- 2+ years as a GIS professional
- Solid knowledge, experience, and comprehension of ESRI software products - ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online at a minimum
- Solid experience in the creation of shapefiles, geodatabases, rasters, and layer files
- Extensive experience with geo-spatial file conversions
- Basic knowledge of excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent time management skills, working in a fast paced environment, the ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex GIS concepts into actionable insights
Responsibilities
- Develop and produce high-quality maps, charts, and visualizations to communicate spatial data and analysis effectively
- Collaborate with project teams to create interactive maps and web-based GIS applications for internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain existing project web maps and other AGOL web applications
- Manage incoming GIS requests from other departments from start to finish, working and communicating with internal team members to understand their needs
- Conduct spatial analysis to support site selection, resource assessment, and feasibility studies for renewable energy projects
Preferred Qualifications
Previous GIS experience in the renewable or oil and gas sector
