Summary

Angaza is hiring a Global People Operations Director to join their leadership team. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in a People Operations/HR role, preferably at a high-growth startup and with experience managing across international offices. The role involves cultivating the company culture, collaborating with the executive team on people matters, implementing scalable initiatives, managing employee relations issues, expanding performance management framework, and leading employee engagement and retention strategies.

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in a People Operations/HR role
  • Bachelor’s degree; higher degree or related certifications a plus

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and deepen our company culture
  • Work collaboratively with the executive team on all people related matters
  • Drive the implementation of scalable initiatives aimed at empowering managers
  • Ensure that the executive team has the 'pulse of the company' in order to make proactive and effective organizational decisions
  • Manage employee relations issues for U.S., Kenya, and international staff
  • In conjunction with our legal department and local counsel, ensure compliance with U.S., Kenya, and international labor laws
  • Provide tools and guidelines to support and implement policies and procedures
  • Maintain a high-quality central HR function, including the use of metrics and data to inform key decisions
  • Manage the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for all new staff across the globe
  • In consultation with the legal department, resolve complex employee relations issues (such as harassment and discrimination allegations)
  • Lead the development and implementation of employee engagement and retention strategies
  • Expand the performance management framework, including training for global staff
  • Manage compensation and benefits administration across international offices
  • Manage and grow the People Operations team in the U.S. and Kenya
