Summary

Join Instacart's Growth Experiences Product team as a Group Product Manager to lead a team of 3-4 PMs focused on consumer lifecycle growth. You will develop engaging experiences to boost user engagement and value on the Instacart platform. This role involves using data-driven insights to evaluate experience ideas, inspect experimentation plans, troubleshoot execution with cross-functional teams, and create a test-analyze-iterate operating model. The ideal candidate possesses strong product management, team management, and communication skills, along with a data-driven approach to problem-solving. Instacart offers a flexible remote work environment and competitive compensation and benefits, including equity grants.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management or similar experience
  • Team management experience (direct or indirect)-- developing others, giving tough feedback, creating operating norms and rituals
  • Strong project management skills- helping the team to run (ideally many) high velocity/ scrappy experiments against a number of data-driven themes
  • Strong XFN communication- helping design, engineering, marketing, and leadership understand our “insight—> action—> impact” hypotheses and what we’re asking them to build/ support/ approve
  • Strong ability to generate insights from data- asking the right questions of Data Science, using data to identify white space or opportunity areas, leading ideation against those areas
  • Ability to inspect proposed consumer experiences using intuition—> Are the right messages coming across? Are we making it easy and simple for consumers to take action, and to reassure them that they’re getting the benefits they were promised for taking those actions? Are the stated benefits compelling? Are we being thoughtful about when and where we’re inserting friction?

Responsibilities

  • Use data-driven insights to evaluate your team’s experience ideas– what types of experiences may be most compelling, to which users, to help those users to find value on Instacart. What offerings and opportunities do users not yet know about? What anxieties do they have that we might remove?
  • Inspecting the team’s experimentation plans– are we likely to learn what we want to learn? Are the experiences “good enough” to get learnings (without spending too much time making them “perfect”)
  • Troubleshoot execution with marketing, design, and engineering to envision – when roadblocks come up, help your team navigate the right tradeoffs and choices
  • Create a “test, analyze, and iterate” operating model within the team– learn from what worked (and what didn’t)
  • Maintain a portfolio and drumbeat of experimentation– knowing that not all tests will work, but that with good insights and enough “shots on goal,” value will follow

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a growth-oriented role, envisioning or evaluating consumer-facing experiences

Benefits

  • Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work
  • This role is remote
  • This role is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants
