Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience designing systems that meet 508 Requirements
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
  • Solid knowledge of user research methods and techniques
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and decisions to diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges
  • Demonstrated experience in Federal or State contracting as a Civic Technologist
  • Demonstrated Knowledge and Experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive user research through methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and field studies to gain insights into user needs, behaviors, and preferences
  • Develop and communicate design strategies that address user needs and business goals. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize design goals
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications. Ensure designs are user-friendly, accessible, and visually appealing
  • Develop intuitive and engaging interactions that enhance user experiences and align with established design patterns and standards
  • Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to evaluate design effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Analyze and present findings to the team and stakeholders
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to ensure seamless integration of design into the development process. Communicate design concepts and decisions effectively
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback and data from user testing, market trends, and industry best practices
