Summary

Join Sauce, a premier restaurant technology platform, as we seek a Head of Data to lead and grow our data capabilities from the ground up. This role will oversee Business Intelligence and Business Analytics departments, establishing the company's data strategy, infrastructure, and processes.

Requirements

• 8+ years in data analytics, BI, or data science, with leadership experience
• Proven experience in building and scaling data teams from scratch, preferably in a startup or fast-growing tech environment
• Expertise in BI tools (e.g., Superset, Databricks, Looker) and data platforms (e.g., Snowflake)
• Strong SQL, Python/R skills, and hands-on experience with data modeling
• Experience implementing data strategies that lead to measurable business growth

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead both the BI and BA teams, including recruiting, hiring, and mentoring team members who will serve all company departments
• Own the Data: Own the entire company data, from development to consumption, including data architecture and quality control
• Build Data Infrastructure: Design a scalable data system from scratch to support business growth as well as enhance our existing processes
• Enable Self-Service Analytics: Empower teams with dashboards and tools to access insights independently, ensuring data is easily accessible across the organization
• Drive Business Impact: Use prescriptive analytics to inform key business decisions, improve operational efficiency, customer insights, and product performance
• Experimentation & Insights: Lead deep-dive analysis and develop a culture of experimentation to measure the impact of product and business decisions
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with teams across product, marketing, and operations to align data strategy with business goals
