Summary
Join Sourcescrub as our Head of Data Product and lead our global data initiatives, shaping the future of our data strategy. You will oversee the development and execution of raw data products, ensuring alignment with business objectives. This critical role reports to the CEO and involves close collaboration with Product and Data Engineering teams. You will own the strategy, development, execution, and budgeting for global data products. You'll actively engage in data product optimization, collaborate with Go-to-Market teams, and oversee data acquisition and integration from diverse sources. Success requires 5+ years of experience in data product management, extensive knowledge of the investing/private equity industry, and strong technical skills.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management for data-related products with some direct people and process management experience
- Extensive knowledge of the investing/private equity industry
- Experience designing and implementing research & data collection processes
- Strong Excel skills, experience with SQL and data modeling, ontology development, and data governance frameworks
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their impact on data product development
Responsibilities
- Own the strategy, development, execution, and budgeting for global data products, including leading the Product Owner role for Data Labeling, Data Platform, and Data Automation Ingestion
- Actively engage in the development and optimization of raw and derived data products, utilizing your product and technical expertise to drive projects forward
- Collaborate with Go-to-Market teams to provide input on materials and strategy regarding data accuracy, coverage, and freshness
- Oversee the acquisition and integration of data from diverse sources, including, but not limited to, data partnerships, public records, industry reports, financial filings, and company websites
- Design and implement innovative research and data collection methodologies, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
- Identify hidden patterns and trends in the data to support client decision-making and strategic planning
- Establish and implement rigorous data quality measurement and control measures practices
- Conduct regular audits and data validation checks to maintain data accuracy and reliability and provide regular reporting to internal and external teams
- Document research methodologies and data sources to ensure transparency and facilitate future research initiatives
- Work closely with engineering teams to execute on data product roadmap
- Identify and implement new tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of research operations
- Continuously explore and develop new data sources to stay ahead of the curve and provide clients with cutting-edge insights
- Proactively identify and anticipate client needs and deliver research solutions that exceed expectations
- Contribute to the development and execution of the overall research strategy for SourceScrub
