Summary
Join Leadership Connect as their Head of Data Science, overseeing the strategic and tactical direction of global data collection operations and supporting technology. Lead and grow a team of research and data analysts, developing and executing strategic plans for transformational data operations. Collaborate with various departments to refine processes, implement quality assurance measures, and partner with other teams to articulate requirements for data collection tools. Expand data operations analysis and reporting, overseeing US and international data team members, focusing on team efficiency and modernization. Develop and implement processes for efficient and quality data capture, cleansing, storage, and use. This role reports directly to the CEO and involves managing a team across multiple locations and time zones.
Requirements
- Expertise in data operations management and modernizing and/or transforming data management processes within a product-based environment
- Previous ownership of end-to-end data collection and processing operations and proven record of implementing streamlined processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in a dynamic and evolving environment
- Expertise in data collection methods and best practices, including web-scrapping, automated data collection methodologies, and/or leveraging the latest data science, engineering, and AI techniques
- Proven experience in leading, onboarding, and managing high-performing global teams focused on the collection and enrichment of information that supports SaaS products and analysis
- A background in designing and implementing effective processes for web data collection, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of data sources while maintaining a focus on data quality
- Proficient in budget management with a track record of effectively allocating resources to maximize efficiency and achieve organizational financial goals
- Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of technological advancements, coupled with a proven track record of implementing solutions to optimize data collection, processing, and operational efficiency
- Ability to mentor and navigate a dynamic team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment as a crucial aspect of leading data operations in an organization
- Experience managing offshore partnerships, ideally within India
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of talented research and data analysts who extract insights from open-source information, focused on both the public and private sectors, and enrich the data through various processes
- As the face of the Data Science Team, develop and execute strategic plans for transformational data operations, aligning with the overall business objectives and contributing to the growth and success of the teams
- Engage collaboratively with various departments to establish and refine processes aligned with business requirements, potentially overseeing the initiation and management of tailored research projects
- Implement robust quality assurance measures to validate and enrich collected data, ensuring the data meets the highest standards for use in data products
- Partner with the data team leaders, product team members, and software development team members to articulate requirements for data collection and management tools that reflect the future direction of data operations and management
- Expand data operations analysis and reporting to reflect the current productivity of the teams; Develop future KPIs for data team that reflect impact on business objectives
- Oversee US and international data team members focusing on team efficiency, modernization, and developing the ability to identify, ingest, and analysis new data sets, meeting and positively impacting business objectives
- Develop and implement processes focusing on efficiency and ensuring quality of data capture, cleansing, storage, and use
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep technical and product management experience with an ability to understand and explain technical problems to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences; Previous data product management experience is a plus for this role
- Knowledge of advanced data elements such as metadata, taxonomies, and classification within an unstructured data environment; Experience with open-source data collection
- Experience with contact data, people data, and/or experience with the U.S. Public Sector is ideal but not required
