Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4-6 years of accounting experience, ideally in CPG, direct-to-consumer (DTC), alcohol/beverage, beauty, or cannabis industries
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with e-commerce and subscription-based revenue models
- Prior ERP experience required (NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
- Prepare and enter journal entries, as well as maintain an organized log of entries to facilitate reviews and lookbacks
- Analyze financial performance metrics and identify key trends to inform business strategy
- Conduct variance analysis to explain fluctuations in revenue, expenses, and profitability
- Manage online sales transactions, including customer order processing, revenue recognition, and returns management
- Reconcile payment gateway transactions and ensure accurate sales data reporting
- Monitor and manage customer subscription billing and account reconciliations
- Perform regular account reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets and accounts payable
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified during reconciliation
- Maintain daily cash-tracking and treasury functions to optimize working capital
- Track and analyze direct and indirect costs associated with product fulfillment, marketing campaigns, and customer acquisition
- Prepare cost reports to support pricing decisions and inventory management
- Manage multi-state inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS), including periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Lead the transition from QuickBooks to a new ERP system in 2025, ensuring a seamless migration and process automation
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance financial accuracy and streamline workflows
- Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards
- Support external audits, tax filings, and multi-state compliance
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and production teams to provide financial insights and support business initiatives
- Analyze customer data and e-commerce trends to identify revenue growth opportunities
