Join Finalis as our Head of Engineering and lead our engineering & DevOps organizations. Requirements

  • Have a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Have proven experience as a senior engineering leader, such as Head of Engineering, VP of Engineering, or Director of Engineering, with a history of managing engineering teams and delivering impactful results, preferably in fintech or related industry
  • Have a strong technical background with working knowledge across multiple product development disciplines and their interdependencies such as in software engineering, cloud computing and modern technology stacks (e.g., Java, Python, AWS)
  • Have proven experience in overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, including conceptualization, design, engineering, testing, and successful market launch, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs
  • Have exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams
  • Be a strategic thinker with excellent foresight and the ability to translate business goals into actionable engineering plans
  • Have outstanding communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Have demonstrated experience managing large-scale, complex projects, including budgeting and resource planning. Have experience in strategic planning, team building and cross-functional collaboration
  • Have a solid understanding of industry trends and a commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies and practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage an in-house product engineering team focused on building and evolving our core product suite, fostering a culture of deep product knowledge, innovation, and technical excellence
  • Develop and implement long-term product engineering strategies that advance our proprietary technology platform, ensuring architectural decisions support our product roadmap and scalability needs
  • Define and execute the technical vision for our product ecosystem, balancing technical debt reduction with new feature development to maintain a healthy, maintainable codebase
  • Drive the evolution of our product architecture and technology stack, making strategic decisions about build vs. buy and ensuring our technical foundation supports future product innovations
  • Collaborate with product leadership to translate business strategy into technical implementation plans, ensuring engineering efforts enhance our product's competitive advantage in the market
  • Establish engineering performance metrics focused on product quality, system reliability, and development velocity, with emphasis on reducing customer-reported issues and technical debt
  • Manage engineering investments across platform improvements, new feature development, and technical debt reduction, optimizing for long-term product sustainability
  • Foster technical excellence through architecture reviews, technical design processes, and engineering standards that prioritize maintainability and scalability of our product platform
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks in our product architecture, ensuring our platform remains robust and scalable as we grow
  • Lead technological innovation within our product domain, evaluating emerging technologies that could enhance our core product capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a Masterโ€™s degree in Engineering Management, Technical Management, or Business Administration (MBA)
  • Have relevant domain experience: prior experience with fintech, marketplaces, investment banking, workflow optimization, and other products at the intersection of user experience & operations management
  • Have a track record of driving product development excellence and delivering scalable solutions in high-growth startups or fast-paced environments
