Join OFX, a global leader in online international payments, as their new Head of Legal – Product & Integration! Based in Sydney with flexible or remote work options across Australia, you will be a key member of the global legal team, supporting new product launches, advising senior management, and managing legal risk. Requirements

  • Law degree with superior academic credentials from a nationally-recognised law school
  • Current Australian practicing certificate
  • 5 years+ PQE
  • Experience as a lawyer in a top tier law firm
  • Exceptional analytical, written and oral communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with directors, senior management and other employees from all parts of the Company and an ability to present a highly professional image when representing the Company
  • A commercial and pragmatic attitude
  • Ability to take initiative in bringing value from a legal perspective
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work independently and efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced, fluid environment handling multiple tasks and projects concurrently while maintaining the highest standards and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Support the launch of new products and capabilities, including the new client platform and business transformations
  • Work with the Global Executive Team and the OFX Group board in relation to key strategic and commercial initiatives
  • Manage legal risk and advise on global regulatory changes and the impacts on compliance obligations, including payments regulations and sanctions advice, and working with financial services regulators across the regions
  • Provide legal advice and consultation to senior management in relation to a variety of corporate, commercial, legal, licensing and regulatory issues
  • Draft, review and update a range of commercial contracts, with clients, partners and service providers
  • Draft, review and update product and customer terms and conditions and policies including the privacy policy
  • Draft and review internal policies and procedures to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance
  • Undertake such other duties as maybe required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the role and the needs of OFX

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous inhouse experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Financial services (payments) experience is ideal but not essential
