Requirements

  • Partner or equivalent title at Am Law 200 Law Firm in private client or equivalent group
  • J.D. degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
  • Active law license in at least one U.S. state, in good standing
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney
  • Strong record of business development
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial and problem-solving mindset with a passion for new areas of business and technology development in fintech and estate planning
  • Ability to lead projects as a resourceful and execution-oriented self-starter, to work with lean teams and limited resources, and to extend help to team members
  • Excellent judgment and aptitude for optimization given ambiguous and imperfect information
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with an impressive ability to breakdown and articulate complex legal considerations in layman terms
  • Ability to collaborate with and build strong relationships across departments
  • Willingness to travel 3 to 4 times a year to attend in-person events (U.S. only)

Responsibilities

  • Develop software tools for ultra high net worth wealth transfer and tax planning, including data capture, visualization and reporting, and tax projections
  • Service and protect our most important customer relationships
  • Lead and standardize the review process for estate planning and other documents submitted by customers
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to the company
  • Support the company’s sales and marketing efforts, including attending conferences, trade shows, and other in-person events
  • Stay up-to-date on laws and regulations about private wealth management, estate planning and tax-driven planning to help Wealth adapt to, and capitalize on, the changing legal landscape
  • As the need arises, support the Chief Legal Officer to address legal risk in business-centric decisions, including strategic projects, contract negotiations, and product risk management
