Summary

Join Sur La Table as an HR Generalist – Field Support and provide comprehensive HR support to retail stores. Support store teams and field leadership on employee relations, policy compliance, performance management, and staffing needs. Investigate workplace issues and drive consistent HR practices. The ideal candidate is a proactive, data-driven HR professional passionate about improving employee experience in a fast-paced retail environment. Responsibilities include resolving escalated HR issues, conducting investigations, ensuring policy compliance, analyzing ER trends, partnering with legal and HR leadership, supporting field leadership on coaching and performance management, assisting with workforce planning, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting HR initiatives. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5+ years of HR experience with a focus on retail employee relations, expertise in employee relations and conflict resolution, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field
  • 5+ years of HR experience, with a strong focus on retail employee relations
  • Expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, and engagement strategies
  • Skilled in coaching and building relationships across all organizational levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HRIS platforms, and case management tools
  • Experience developing and maintaining HR SOPs and documentation
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
  • Demonstrated use of HR data and analytics to inform decisions and drive improvement

Responsibilities

  • Support the resolution of escalated store-level HR issues and concerns
  • Participate in timely, objective investigations into employee complaints and policy violations
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment laws across all locations
  • Track and analyze ER trends to identify risks and recommend proactive solutions
  • Partner with Legal and HR leadership on complex employee relations matters
  • Support District and General Managers on coaching, performance management, and corrective action
  • Support consistent application and understanding of policies and HR practices across the field
  • Support creation of performance documentation in collaboration with field leaders and Senior Director of Stores
  • Assist with workforce planning in partnership with field leaders
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all employee relations cases
  • Support development, rollout, and communication of HR initiatives and SOPs
  • Monitor field compliance and escalate issues when necessary
