Summary
Join Coin Metrics as an Index Analyst and contribute to the development and growth of the Coin Metrics Bletchley Indexes (CMBI). You will conduct research, design, and develop cryptocurrency and digital asset indexes. This role involves gathering competitive intelligence, designing new indexes, calculating back-tests, and preparing methodology guides and whitepapers. You will also support the index rebalance process and prepare reports for regular research publications. The ideal candidate possesses strong quantitative and programming skills, experience in financial indexes, and a deep understanding of financial markets. Requirements
- 2+ yearsβ experience in financial indexes and/or market data industry (internship)
- Strong quantitative and programming skills; ability to perform data and complex statistical analysis; experience in R, Python, and SQL
- Demonstrated experience in financial data modelling, statistics, and analysis
- Strong analytical mindset and research skillset (qualitative and quantitative) with the ability to analyze technical data
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task effectively and independently within a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail, relationship management, organization skills, prioritization skills
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
- Interest in crypto and cryptoassets
- Degree in quantitative discipline i.e. Mathematics, Finance, Data Science or Computer Science
Responsibilities
- Develop deep domain knowledge in indexing trends for the cryptoasset market
- Perform research to gather competitive intelligence by compiling, organizing, and maintaining index methodology reviews and other relevant datasets within the digital assets space
- Key contributor in designing new indexes and developing new index ideation initiatives for CMBI
- Research, calculate and develop index calculation back-tests to support the onboarding of new indexes
- Support and prepare written CMBI methodology guides and whitepapers
- Supporting the rebalance process for CMBI and/or the associated implementation of any methodology changes, in accordance with our annual index review schedule
- Preparing report templates, with standard charts and data tables, for regular research publications
- Collect data, prepare analyses and provide input in support of Index and Oversight Committees
- Participating in projects, research reports or initiatives as needed
- Ensure Index business is adhering to control framework for IOSCO & UK BMR
- Customer facing persona
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of financial instruments and markets is a plus but not required provided the candidate demonstrates strong basic skills
- Experience with financial audits (IOSCO & BMR)
- Experience with Bloomberg
