Summary
Join the United Nations Foundation's FP2030 Support Network as a HIPs intern! This paid internship, running from January 27, 2025, to May 23, 2025, offers hourly compensation ($17.50-$20 depending on education level). The role primarily supports the HIPs team, focusing on commitment analyses, meeting coordination, and production tracking. Interns will gain exposure to the family planning and reproductive health community. The position requires enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program, strong organizational and communication skills, and availability for up to 24 hours per week. A background in international development/global health is preferred. The internship is remote.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress
- Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy
- Have a personal laptop computer and access to the Internet
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
- Be available to work a maximum of 24 hours per week
- Be authorized to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Support the HIPs team, with potential to support other portfolios based on interest and capacity
- Develop HIPs Commitment Analyses for priority countries. This includes reviewing a country’s key strategic documents (FP2030 Commitment, Costed Implementation Plans for Family Planning, country-specific data from the most recent Demographic and Health Survey) to identify which HIPs are included and potential opportunities
- Assist the HIPs team in coordinating key meetings, including monthly HIPs Co-Sponsors meetings, and biannual Technical Advisory Group meetings. This includes supporting note taking, scheduling, and logistics when needed
- Assist in tracking the production of new HIPs products, working with the HIPs team to update the HIPs production tracker on a regular basis
- Gain exposure to the larger family planning and reproductive health community in Washington, DC and abroad
- Other duties as assigned
