IT Security Intern

Summary

The IT Security Intern will assist the Appen's IT Security team in monitoring, protecting, and enhancing the security of their IT infrastructure. The internship offers hands-on experience in cybersecurity tasks like security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, user awareness training, documentation, and reporting.

Requirements

• Candidate must be an active student taking up bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely
• Good understanding of basic cybersecurity concepts, including common threat vectors, threat actors and security controls

Responsibilities

• Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Assist in monitoring security alerts and logs across various platforms and tools
• Vulnerability Management: Assist in vulnerability reports and collaborate with teams to ensure timely patching and mitigation of security risks
• Threat Intelligence: Research and Monitor industry trends and evaluating news related to cybersecurity to keep the team informed
• User Awareness Training: Assist in developing and delivering security awareness training to employees
• Documentation and Reporting: Assist in documenting security procedures and provide suggestions for improving existing security processes based on observations and industry best practices
