Summary

Join Escape Velocity Entertainment's IT team as an IT Systems Engineer, ensuring smooth operations for the development team. You will manage and monitor systems and infrastructure, install and maintain software, troubleshoot applications, and provide IT support. Responsibilities include onboarding/offboarding employees, improving processes, and liaising with vendors. A BS/MS in Computer Science or related field is required, along with proven experience in system administration and troubleshooting across various platforms. Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux/Windows based environments
  • Solid experience in the administration and troubleshooting of applications
  • Work with version control system (Perforce)
  • Cloud experience, preferably in AWS
  • Some experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)
  • Solid experience with monitoring systems
  • Scripting skills (being able to read a script) (Python, Powershell, Bash)
  • Proven working networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, troubleshooting)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to help people with their issues
  • Being able to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical employees
  • Communication with vendor
  • Planning and time management
  • Creating and maintaining documentation

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
