Summary

The job is a mid-level software engineering position in satellite spaceflight safety systems. The employee will create the next generation of software to protect satellites from hazards, learn space operations, and work with senior scientists and engineers. The job requires top secret/SCI security clearance, 10 years of experience in software engineering or development with Java, and a bachelor's degree in relevant fields.

Requirements

• Top Secret / SCI security clearance with willingness to take a CI Polygraph required
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering or software development with Java
• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field. No experience required

Responsibilities

• Create the next generation of satellite spaceflight safety systems
• Learn space operations and how the code supports satellite constellations and operations
• Review, package, and update software to screen satellite orbits for hazards
• Interface with multiple teammates to develop applications to provide data to a scalable cloud service platform
• Support and plan Agile sprints to break software development tasks into logical and efficient software packages supporting a wide variety of satellite safety tasks
• Work with advanced analysts and system tier support to create procedures in support of ongoing operations
• Prepare and give briefings to mid and senior level management on program increments supporting satellite and space related activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Java Certification (or equivalent)
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (or equivalent)
• Red Hat Linux experience
• Experience with development tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins
• Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX
• Windows experience
• Strong skill set with Jira
• Strong skill set with Confluence
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification or experience
• Experience serving government customers
