Junior Accountant

Summary

The job is for a Junior Accountant who will collaborate with various teams to execute accounting tasks, manage daily accounting duties, reconcile accounts, maintain financial records, assist in preparing monthly statements, and perform other related duties as assigned. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA) or being a student at the professional stage, 3 to 4 years relevant experience, knowledge of SAP or other accounting packages, multitasking abilities, fluency in English, and strong multinational/international experience are required. Knowledge of local taxation and payroll procedures is desired.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance related
• Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA) or student at professional stage
• 3 to 4 years relevant experience
• Knowledge of SAP or other accounting packages
• Ability to multitask across different types of accounting-related projects
• Fluency in English is mandatory requirement

Responsibilities

• Assist the accounting department with day-to-day accounting duties
• Document financial transactions by entering financial information into SAP
• Reconcile suppliers accounts; identify and resolve discrepancies
• Trace customers payments to various payment platforms and ensure full remittance to the company’s accounts
• Carry out bank reconciliation
• Maintain digital and physical financial records
• Assist with general accounts payable and accounts receivable duties
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong multinational and/or international experience is desired
• Knowledge of local taxation, payroll procedures etc
