Junior Accountant

Summary

The job is for an experienced Accountant to manage general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, VAT reporting, fixed asset accounting, international expenses, and other accounting tasks in a company that specializes in transporting temperature-sensitive medicines. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or commercial apprenticeship in Accounting with at least 3+ years of experience
• Proven work experience in accounts receivable/accounts payable accounting and general ledger accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and respective laws, incl. Swiss Code of Obligations and ideally IFRS
• Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP (FI/CO) and/or Abacus, and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to create and present detailed reports
• Proactive and adaptable, capable of thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic setting
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, demonstrating a dedicated and results-driven approach
• Self-motivated and collaborative
• High standard of confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Supports the management of the general ledger (including cash accounting)
• Supports the management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process (including dunning process)
• Support month-end and year-end close process and keep B/S and P/L accounts current and up to date according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines, according to Swiss OR and IFRS
• Supports the management of fixed asset accounting (Anlagebuchhaltung)
• Supports the Value-Added Tax (VAT) reporting for Swiss entities
• Assist with reviewing of international expenses and the respective software tool
• Assist other accountants, support & perform monthly closing activities for Swiss entities, including accruals and other adjustments
• Provide support during audit engagements
• Physical mail/inbox admin & distribution
• Preparation of payment runs for all subsidiaries
• Assist and supports with other accounting projects
