Junior Bookkeeper

Summary

The job description is for a Junior Bookkeeper position at a construction and development company in Sandton. The role involves assisting the Accounting team with various financial tasks and requires a BCom degree, Sage Pastel experience, prior experience in a bookkeeping or administrative role (preferred), basic understanding of bookkeeping principles, knowledge of accounting software, strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, good written and verbal communication skills, ability to work well in a team environment, high level of integrity and professionalism. The salary range is 216K - R264K.

Requirements

• BCom degree
• Sage Pastel experience is a must!
• Knowledge of accounting software or willingness to learn
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• High level of integrity and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Assist in recording day-to-day financial transactions
• Help maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Support in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Assist in managing invoices and tax payments
• Contribute to the preparation of financial reports as needed
• Participate in internal audits and compliance activities
• Perform general administrative tasks related to bookkeeping

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a bookkeeping or administrative role preferred
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles
