Summary
Join Deep Sky, a leader in Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, as a Junior Project Manager. You will support the development and delivery of large-scale DAC projects across Canada. Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, you will contribute to planning, execution, and delivery. This role provides hands-on experience in managing infrastructure projects while making a significant impact on climate change. You will assist in various project management tasks, including planning, budgeting, coordination, and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate possesses a relevant bachelor's degree, project management experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for sustainability.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field
- Experience or internships in project management or related areas (energy and infrastructure sectors are a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive in identifying and mitigating project risks across all phases
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to address challenges as they arise
- An eagerness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- A passion for sustainability and climate-focused technologies
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met
- Monitor project schedules and ensure tasks are completed on time
- Support in tracking project progress and identifying potential risks or delays
- Assist in budget tracking and cost control activities to ensure projects stay within budget
- Maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, and project reports
- Assist in the procurement and coordination of contractors and vendors
- Lead vendor coordination, ensuring equipment delivery within schedule and budget, tracking vendor progress and coordinating document review
- Support project meetings by preparing agendas, minutes, and action items
- Help prepare progress reports and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders
- Provide general project support across multiple project phases, including design, construction, and commissioning
- Travel to site required and expected
