Requirements

• Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in a Machine learning research field
• Team Lead Experience: has been able to demonstrate leading a small agile team in in a small research capacity
• A candidate with extensive knowledge of commercial ML Models and their capabilities for practical use cases in Business applications
• Problem-Solving Mindset: You are a collaborative problem-solver, eager to take on new challenges and contribute to a fast-paced development cycle
• Passion for AI: A genuine passion and awareness for artificial intelligence and a strong desire to build products that leverage its capabilities to solve real-world problems
• Creativity and Proactivity: You have a passion for building great products, are eager to propose new features, and enjoy finding creative solutions to improve the user experience
• A Proactive Self - Learner reading-up and knowing and investigating recent developments in the A.I Field, new releases and what are the current iterations of models & algorithms being pending release
• Applied Mindset: A pragmatic researcher who can balance exploration with feasibility—knowing when to go deep and when to iterate fast
• Technical Depth: Strong hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks and techniques—transformers, encoder-decoder architectures, vector embeddings, and tokenization strategies
• Coding & Experimentation Skills: Proficiency in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, HuggingFace Transformers, LangChain, or similar libraries. Comfortable with experimentation frameworks
• Problem-Solving Mindset: You are a collaborative problem-solver, eager to take on new challenges and contribute to a fast-paced development cycle
• LLM Ecosystem Fluency: Experience with both closed-source APIs (Claude 3, OpenAI GPT-4o, Gemini 1.5 Pro) and open-weight models (Mistral, DeepSeek, Phi-3,)

Responsibilities

• Manage a Team of Applied AI Researchers, focus their efforts to provide tangible business application outcomes, this as an Applied AI Research Lab
• Build: Collate the research from your team, prioritize the tangible research and Build these as Proof concept products with speed, using the research and tools available, to which you'll be given a wide range to choose from
• Create impact: team effectiveness is the DNA of Leadtech

Preferred Qualifications

• AI Project Experience: Previous experience working on projects involving AI, machine learning, Deep Learning or interacting with large language models (LLMs)
• Research Team Leadership Experience:: being part for a small and agile AI R&D Team
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) & AWS
