Remote Lead Backend Engineer

Summary

Join our fully remote engineering team as a Lead Backend Engineer to shape the architecture, design, and delivery of our platform capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8-12 years of experience in backend development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with deep experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience in architecting scalable data solutions
• Extensive experience with AWS services, including managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure
• Solid familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document and present complex solutions effectively
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Proven ability to lead and inspire engineering teams in a remote environment

• Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of platform capabilities
• Drive and inspire innovation, setting the technical direction for the engineering team
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality features
• Ensure the security, scalability, and quality of all deliverables
• Tackle key challenges in the modern data stack with a forward-thinking approach

• Ensure timely delivery of features and platform improvements
• Mentor, guide, and develop team members, nurturing the next generation of engineering leaders
