Requirements
- 8β10+ years of product design experience, with at least 4+ years in leadership roles managing senior individual contributors
- Proven success scaling design teams in high-growth, fast-paced environments
- Experience leading globally distributed teams and building empowered design cultures
- Deep fluency in UX, UI, and product strategy, with a strong systems mindset
- A refined sense of detail and quality, paired with the ability to think at scale
- Experience delivering cross-platform solutions in complex or regulated domains
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity while translating high-level vision into clear action
- Skilled at balancing velocity with quality and driving continuous improvement
- Strong product thinking with a focus on impact and long-term outcomes
- Autonomous, self-driven, and capable of identifying gaps and proactively filling them
- Exceptional communicator, with the ability to clearly articulate vision, trade-offs, and direction
- Able to build trust across disciplines and at all levels of the organisation
- A collaborative facilitator who brings people together to solve big, complex problems
Responsibilities
- Define and champion a bold, cohesive design strategy across multiple product areas in alignment with Deelβs long-term mission
- Champion a culture of innovation and design excellence, embedding user-centred design principles into the organisation
- Partner with executive leadership to influence product direction and position design as a key driver of innovation and competitive advantage
- Elevate the role of design in the organisation by connecting scalable systems, user empathy, and creative vision
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of individual contributors at all levels as needed. The levels will vary based on evolving business priorities
- Provide structured coaching and career development to ensure your team thrives with autonomy and clarity
- Foster a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative team culture focused on craft, growth, and impact
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Business partners to solve complex challenges with scalable, elegant solutions
- Drive alignment across verticals, balancing short-term delivery pressures with long-term strategic bets
- Represent the design perspective at the leadership level, advocating for users and responsible innovation
- Maintain end-to-end ownership of design quality across platforms and customer touchpoints
- Actively participate in design reviews, providing clarity, direction, and actionable feedback
- Step into high-priority or ambiguous spaces when needed, helping teams stay unblocked and aligned
- Optimise resourcing across teams to meet evolving business priorities while safeguarding design quality
- Evolve design systems, processes, and rituals that support speed, cohesion, and cross-functional execution
- Champion operational excellence to help distributed teams work efficiently without compromising on craft
- Define clear success metrics for design and tie outputs directly to business outcomes and user satisfaction
- Use insights from data, research, and experimentation to prioritise and iterate
- Balance bold innovation with accountability, always driving toward measurable impact
