Build world-class design solutions, elevate design culture, and make a lasting impact on how people work. The position offers the opportunity to work remotely and be part of a fast-growing, innovative company.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Product Designer in a fast-paced environment (ideally scale-ups or startups)
  • 2+ years of experience leading design teams in high-growth, fast-moving companies
  • Experience in Payroll, HRTech, or similar complex financial/workforce platforms
  • A strong foundation in both UX and UI, with an ability to balance aesthetics with functionality
  • Deep expertise in design systems and scalable design frameworks
  • A people-first leadership approach —mentoring, coaching, and growing Product Designers while driving business impact
  • Ability to operate autonomously, making decisions that drive business and user impact
  • Proven ability to ship world-class products in an agile, iterative environment
  • Strong collaboration with engineers, understanding technical constraints while advocating for great design
  • Excellent storytelling skills —you articulate design rationale with clarity, whether to designers, executives, or engineers

Responsibilities

  • Empower and mentor multiple Product Designers, helping them grow in their careers and drive impactful design work
  • Collaborate with your Product and Engineering counterparts to ensure the teams you are responsible for are on track to deliver the work planned in the roadmap while also fostering a culture of innovation
  • Play a key role in attracting, retaining, and hiring top design talent when needed
  • Actively contribute to building a high-performing, engaged, and motivated design team
  • Set and drive the design vision for your product area, ensuring alignment with business goals while maintaining a high UX standard
  • Guide and empower your team to deeply analyze user behavior, identify customer pain points, and craft scalable, world-class solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders (Product, Engineering, and Business) to shape the strategy and influence key decisions
  • Ensure consistency and scalability by leading the evolution of design standards and frameworks across multiple platforms, including employee portals, employer dashboards, and admin interfaces
  • Balance leadership with hands-on work —while your primary focus is on coaching and guiding your team, you should be willing to step in as an IC when needed to unblock challenges, refine critical design work, or push key initiatives forward
  • Be the champion of a user-centered, data-driven approach —leveraging research, insights, and design thinking to create seamless and elegant experiences
  • Take end-to-end ownership of your work, from ideation and prototyping to high-fidelity design and final product execution
  • Define the logic and update acceptance criteria to ensure clarity in development
  • Work autonomously, balancing deep craftsmanship with fast execution —knowing when to refine and when to ship
  • Partner with developers to embed design into the development process, ensuring pixel-perfect execution and a flawless user experience
  • Conduct design QA and post-release feedback loops, making continuous improvements to shipped products
  • Co-lead your squad with Product Managers and Engineers, ensuring seamless collaboration
  • Drive the design vision for your product, setting the bar for innovation, usability, and scalability
  • Be a force multiplier, helping designers and teams elevate their work beyond expectations
  • Advocate for design-led thinking, influencing the company’s broader strategy through user-centered insights
  • Drive cross-functional alignment, collaborating with leadership to push the boundaries of what’s possible

Preferred Qualifications
