Lead Product Designer

Summary

Join ZipRecruiter as a Lead Product Designer and play a pivotal role in creating new products and features for job seekers. You will drive design solutions meeting business objectives and user needs, setting new design standards and managing a team. This role requires expertise and influence, reporting to the Senior Director of Product Design. Responsibilities include UX ownership of product areas, setting design vision, team management and mentorship, establishing performance metrics, leading design reviews, partnering with user research, and iterative design using Figma and FigJam. Requirements

• Possess a Degree or ample experience in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, HCI, Product Design, Interaction Design, Information Design, or equivalent experience
• Have 5+ years of Product Design experience
• Have experience managing teams and developing career growth plans for direct reports
• Possess extensive familiarity with product strategy, information architecture, interaction models, heuristic evaluation, user research, and user journey mapping
• Have expertise in creating and maintaining design systems, libraries, and other tools
• Have experience creating complex prototypes using Figma, Principle, Framer, code, or other prototyping tools
• Have a comprehensive portfolio showcasing your work– case studies

Responsibilities

• Take full UX ownership of multiple large-scale and complex product areas, setting strategic direction and ensuring alignment with overall business goals
• Set the vision for user experience and lead major design initiatives, driving innovation and best practices across the organization
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance design culture that prioritizes talent development
• Establish clear performance metrics, provide continuous feedback, and implement growth plans to help designers reach their highest potential
• Lead design reviews, workshops, and other team-wide design efforts
• Partner with User Research team members to ensure success for user research and usability studies
• Take an iterative approach to design while considering insights from research, A/B testing, and other qualitative methods
• Utilize your expertise knowledge of Figma and FigJam
• Drive the evolution of design systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Have 8+ years of Product Design experience
• Be an individual who can set high standards for design quality and execution, continuously raising the bar for the team through structured feedback
• Have experience in a design leadership role, influencing product strategy and driving large scale initiatives
