Lead Software Engineer

Summary

Amber Labs is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with expertise in various technologies to join their team as a Lead Software Developer. The role involves developing innovative solutions for public sector clients, working collaboratively within an Agile team environment, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Requirements

• Must be a UK Citizen OR have been in the UK for 5 years
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience working in Agile environments, delivering high-quality software solutions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team setting

Responsibilities

• Utilize your public sector experience to contribute to the development of solutions that meet the unique needs of government clients
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Delivery Managers, Business Analysts, Test Automation Engineers, and Technical Architects
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as refinement, estimating, planning, and review sessions
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software applications and services
• Ensure code quality, performance, and security standards are met throughout the development lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS and Government Digital Services (GDS) environments preferred
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
