Lead Trading Analyst

Summary

Join Sympower as a Lead BESS Trader and maximize profits from operating and trading assets connected to our platform. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize energy systems, exploring data sources to enhance machine learning models, and collaborating with data scientists and software engineers. This role requires 7+ years of experience on a trading desk or deep knowledge of the energy sector, algorithmic trading experience, and a detail-oriented approach. Requirements

• 7+ years experience on trading desk and/or deep knowledge of energy sector / demand response
• Experience of algorithmic trading and/or power asset optimisation
• Detail-oriented attitude; a high degree of accuracy
• Problem solving mentality and high sense of accountability
• Fluency in English

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee strategies for optimizing flexibility in energy systems
• Explore emerging meteorological and energy market data sources to identify potential enhancements to machine learning model features
• Strengthen the validation process for new optimization strategies using our automated backtesting tools
• Assess new energy markets to facilitate the expansion of our optimization solutions into additional regions
• Conceptualize and create prototypes for innovative optimization products or enhancements
• Track and analyze energy market dynamics to identify trends that influence product effectiveness
• Partner with data scientists to design, develop, and validate machine learning models for forecasting and optimization
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate research findings into production-ready systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in another EU language (FIN, SE, GR, NL)
• Experience in finance processes/ invoicing
• Knowledge in BESS
