Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in web and UX/UI design, with 3β5+ years in a leadership or senior-level role
- Advanced expertise in Figma for layout design, prototyping, and component system creation
- Deep proficiency with WordPress, particularly in designing and building with the Block Editor (Gutenberg)
- Experience importing and implementing Figma layouts into WordPress using block patterns, reusable blocks, and modern theming best practices
- Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) for supplemental tasks (e.g., asset editing or vector creation)
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
- Proven experience in a web design role, with leadership responsibilities preferred
- High school education or equivalent
- High speed internet connection to facilitate a remote working environment
- Legally authorized to work in India
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of web and graphic designers, ensuring quality, consistency, and on-time delivery of design assets
- Drive the evolution of scalable design workflows, ensuring cross-team alignment and adoption of best practices
- Promote team growth through constructive feedback, design reviews, and skill development opportunities
- Oversee creation of responsive, user-friendly web designs using Figma as the primary design tool
- Translate approved Figma homepage designs into fully functional, responsive WordPress sites using the Block Editor (Gutenberg) framework
- Define and maintain component libraries and design systems within Figma to ensure consistency and scalability across projects
- Ensure pixel-perfect implementation of homepage designs and page layouts using reusable blocks and custom patterns in WordPress
- Work closely with the delivery team PODS, QA, and occasionally the product development team to streamline handoffs and improve implementation fidelity
- Ensure design QA is a priority, focusing on identifying and resolving inconsistencies, UX issues, and missed requirements before launch
- Incorporate feedback from internal review cycles and QA teams to iterate and improve design deliverables over time
- Stay up to date on WordPress advancements, design tooling improvements, and UX/UI best practices to keep our processes cutting edge
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or training in design methodologies or project management is a plus
- Familiarity with WordPress theme development and block-based templating systems
- Experience designing within a component-based system or design tokens framework
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for troubleshooting design-to-code inconsistencies
- Comfortable working in Agile, Kanban, or iterative product development environments
