Requirements

  • A law degree and New York qualification as a lawyer is a must
  • 1-2 years of experience in a law firm and/or as in-house post qualification (experience is SaaS companies is considered a plus)
  • Experience creating, maintaining and improving in-house compliance/legal processes and documents systematically
  • Ability to navigate and interpret legal and regulatory frameworks in an applied setting
  • Ability to balance a high level of attention to detail with a high level of prioritization
  • Strong communication skills, written and spoken, for a variety of audiences

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Legal Manager, draft, review, and negotiate contracts and/or a variety of agreements entered by the company (including SaaS agreements, NDAs, and supplier agreements etc.) with a high level of accuracy to ensure the legal protection of the company and ensure that any agreements align with business objectives and internal guidelines
  • Serve as the liaison between various teams and leadership, ensuring all contracts meet legal and company standards
  • Provide legal support across the Datamaran Group
  • To support and advise on a variety of legal matters which may affect the Datamaran’s Group (with a main focus on the US subsidiary) under the supervision of the Legal Manager, where appropriate
  • To support the Legal and Privacy Manager with the routinary activities and ad hoc projects, where required
  • To coordinate with external legal advisers as and when required
  • To stay updated on legal trends, regulations, and technology-related legal developments in all areas that may affect the company
  • Keep up to date with relevant laws and regulations across key jurisdictions we work in, using this knowledge to inform your work
  • To provide legal opinions under New York law by way of research as and when requested
  • To work closely with different departments to understand their legal needs and provide actionable advice
  • Inform and support the rest of the company to ensure consistency and compliance with applicable laws, and regulations across our policies and practices
  • To assist with and/or lead various and ad hoc projects
  • To assist in any presentations on legal topics to departments as and when required
