Summary
Join DoiT's global legal team as a Legal Counsel, working remotely anywhere in the US with a primary focus on North America (West Coast), and supporting EMEA and APAC as needed. This hands-on role involves contract negotiation with partners, customers, and vendors, providing legal guidance on various matters, including go-to-market strategies. You will assist in developing legal resources, handle daily legal inquiries, collaborate with finance and collections, and address ad hoc legal issues. Reporting to the General Counsel, you'll contribute to the success of a growing technology company. This position requires a Juris Doctorate and 4-6 years of relevant experience in an international corporate environment. Requirements
- Juris Doctorate required
- 4-6 years substantive experience in providing legal advice in an international corporate environment
- Highly skilled and experienced in commercial / contract law and drafting skills
- Commercial mindset: team player with the ability to work with cross-functional departments and having a strong understanding of Sales their needs while managing risk appropriately
- Ability to organize and work across multiple projects and multiple time zones
- Must be self-driven, resourceful, results and deadline oriented, and have a high multi-task proficiency
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast paced, changing business environment
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, identifying key aspects agreement or transaction to align with business goals, and being proactive and pragmatic in addressing potential issues.Β Examples of agreements include strategic transactions and partner agreements, license agreements, SaaS and professional service agreements, data processing agreements, and vendor contracts
- Assist in the development of legal resources such as templates, playbooks, policies, and training materials
- Handling day-to-day legal enquiries, in cooperation with the Heads of Legal USA and EMEA and from the business units/departments
- Work closely with the Finance and Collections team to (i) pursue debtors and recover unpaid invoices; (ii) track efficiently the legal steps regarding the collections process
- Dealing with ad hoc legal matters as needed β corporate entity support, risk assessments, compliance documentation, data privacy assessments and reviews
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in supporting a sales team in a technology company, SaaS experience preferred.Β Compliance experience a plus
- English + knowledge of any other language is an advantage
