This part-time (25-30 hours/week) hybrid role offers remote work flexibility in Germany and inspiring days in the Berlin office. You will support Product Management and Business Development teams, conduct legal assessments, mitigate legal risks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Requirements
- Over 6 years of experience post-admission, qualified to practice in India
- Proven experience as both, an in-house counsel and with a notable law firm
- Expertise in commercial law for more than 2 years, a focus on IT is a strong plus
- Strong ability to conduct in-depth legal assessments and provide strategic guidance on complex regulatory challenges
- Business-focused mindset with a proactive approach to identify and mitigate legal risks
- Exceptional communicator with excellent command of written and spoken English
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Business Development, and other internal stakeholders
- Strong organizational and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage contracts and agreements in a fast-paced, international environment
- Flexibility to occasionally travel to support business initiatives
Responsibilities
- Act as a legal advisor supporting the Product Management and Business Development teams to achieve their objectives
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with partners, vendors, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and regulatory requirements
- Lead the structuring and negotiation of partner and vendor agreements, including license agreements and service level agreements, with multinational corporations (MNCs) and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
- Develop, maintain, and update the company’s general terms and conditions for business operations across India and globally
- Conduct in-depth legal assessments to guide the evolution of the company’s commercial strategy and address complex regulatory challenges, particularly in the e-commerce and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) domains
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential legal risks in new and existing business initiatives to safeguard the company’s interests
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential legal risks in new and existing business initiatives, ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations
- Stay informed on emerging global legal trends relevant to e-commerce and FDI, proactively advising the business on their potential impact
- Occasionally travel to support business initiatives as required
- Contribute to fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment while working in a hybrid setup, including remote work and inspiring days at the Berlin office
Preferred Qualifications
