You will play a crucial role in managing all legal aspects of our global operations, spanning intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and various contracts. You will advise senior leadership, manage IP assets, ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and handle contract negotiations internationally. The ideal candidate possesses a JD, 8+ years of experience, and strong expertise in IP, contract, corporate, and employment law. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal qualification and active license to practice law
  • 8+ years of legal experience, preferably in-house or with startups in the tech or travel industry
  • Strong expertise in intellectual property law, contract negotiation, corporate structure, and employment law
  • Global legal experience, particularly in managing legal matters across the US, Europe, and Mexico
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice

Responsibilities

  • Manage the protection of the company’s intellectual property assets, including software, trademarks, and proprietary technology
  • Oversee the filing and maintenance of trademarks and patents
  • Manage and resolve IP-related disputes and infringement issues
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant US travel industry regulations, including DOT and FAA requirements, monitoring changes in travel laws and regulations and advising on necessary business adaptations
  • Draft and review customer terms of service, privacy policies, and other compliance documents
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts with vendors, partners, and service providers in the US and internationally
  • Advise on corporate structure, including holding company setup and inter-entity relationships
  • Oversee compliance with corporate governance requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Advise on employment matters across the US, Europe, and Mexico, ensuring compliance with local labor laws
  • Draft and review employment agreements, service provider contracts, NDAs, and non-compete agreements (NCAs)
  • Provide strategic legal advice to senior leadership to support business growth and mitigate risks
  • Assist in dispute resolution and litigation management as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a tech-enabled or travel-focused business
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) and cybersecurity compliance
