Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with PQE across a range of areas, including employment, intellectual property, regulatory compliance and corporate Law
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align legal strategies and business objectives
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively
  • Commercially aware and pragmatic approach to risk management
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly and sensitively
  • Confidence to negotiate legal contracts and documentation

Responsibilities

  • Periodically deputising for the Head of Legal Operations, offering strategic vision, direction, and temporary oversight for all legal matters across the group. This also includes interim line management for a team of two
  • Acting as a key advisor to the CEO and executive leadership on legal, governance and risk issues
  • Supporting the development and implementation of the company’s global legal strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Building and managing a high-performing legal and compliance team over time
  • Overseeing the corporate governance for The Adaptavist Group’s global entity structure, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations
  • Managing the company’s company secretarial responsibilities, including drafting and maintenance of board minutes, appointments and resignations, handling shareholder matters and the company’s share option scheme
  • Ensuring regulatory filings and compliance are up-to-date for all global entities, working with outsourced providers and regional offices as needed
  • Monitoring and advising on changes to laws and regulations impacting the company’s global operations
  • Providing legal advice across departments including intellectual property, employment law and regulatory compliance
  • Managing legal risks, balancing the company’s ability to be innovative with its exposure to liability
  • Handling crisis management and providing guidance on sensitive matters with HR on all aspects of employment law
  • Developing and maintaining legal policies and procedures to mitigate risk and promote consistency across the group company
  • Providing ad hoc assistance with contracts, company leases, and preparation of legal documents or templates
  • Leading and supporting mergers and acquisitions if required, including due diligence, contract negotiation and post-acquisition integration
  • Collaborating with product and marketing teams to ensure compliance with data protection and intellectual property laws
  • Working collaboratively to ensure global compliance with data protection regulations, including GDPR, CCPA and other applicable frameworks
  • Drafting policies and processes for managing data breaches and compliance in collaboration with the Office of the CIO and People Operations
  • Collaborating with HR and PEX to promote awareness and training for employees on legal and compliance matters, including data privacy, intellectual property and anti-bribery
  • Providing leadership in developing and executing the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives with the AdaptaKind team, aligning them with legal and ethical standards
