Mail Systems Engineer

Summary

Join CloudLinux, a global remote-first company, as our Mail Systems Engineer and contribute to the Imunify Email team, creators of a smart, automated email protection system. You will design the core architecture of Postfix/Exim worker nodes, write and maintain advanced MTA configurations, implement logic for dynamic IP selection, and troubleshoot complex email delivery issues. This role requires expert-level knowledge of Postfix or Exim, experience managing large-scale email clusters, and a deep understanding of email protocols. Requirements

• Expert-level knowledge of Postfix or Exim - far beyond basic setup
• Proven experience managing large-scale, high-volume email clusters
• Deep understanding of SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and feedback loops (FBLs)
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python, Bash) for MTA-related tasks
• English proficiency - upper-intermediate and higher

Responsibilities

• Design the core architecture of the Postfix/Exim worker nodes
• Write and maintain the advanced MTA configurations that handle mail routing and IP binding
• Implement the logic for dynamic IP selection using techniques like Postfix's transport_maps and multiple transports, or Exim's routers and transports
• Troubleshoot complex email delivery issues, analyze bounce messages, and optimize MTA performance for high throughput
