Summary

Join Autism Speaks as a Special Events Manager in the Southwest and become a front-line fundraiser and ambassador. This remote position, based in Houston, TX, focuses on raising funds for Autism Speaks through various events, primarily the Houston Chef Gala and the Houston 8k. You will recruit and manage volunteers, solicit corporate sponsorships, and implement fundraising strategies to achieve revenue goals. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, along with experience in non-profit fundraising. The ideal candidate is passionate about the autism community and thrives in a flexible environment. Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years demonstrated success in non-profit fundraising

Responsibilities

  • Achieve the revenue goals for assigned fundraising events totaling $465,000
  • Execute fundraising events in partnership with volunteer leadership, specifically managing committee recruitment, activation and retention
  • Achieve the assigned fundraising goals by implementing strategies including sponsorship, corporate engagement, committee development and donor cultivation
  • Support the local implementation of global campaigns of Autism Speaks, sometimes in collaboration with the Outreach team
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned events, including logistics, data entry, acknowledgements and materials management
  • Manage and provide administrative support to volunteer committees
  • Make presentations to businesses, organizations and community groups to secure sponsorship, recruit donors and committee volunteers and manage accounts on a year-round basis
  • Integrate digital marketing initiatives, such as email campaigns, fundraising websites, as well as other forms of digital outreach

  • Ability to travel within the Area and occasionally beyond for meetings and conferences
  • Must have valid driverโ€™s license, insurance and access to reliable transportation
