Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of the next generation of platforms, tools, and products
• Responsible for detailed architecture, POC, design, advising, and often hands-on implementation of complex systems including software and integration with existing systems at 1Password
• Lead and help create data engineering solutions that follow Repeatable Software engineering platforms and tools
• Own and architect scalable solutions that are implementable with principles of extensibility, scalability, modular, and easy to use with generalization principles
• Co-develop and help stand-up operational stability and quality along with Engineering teams through Observability
• Develop and manage SLO's, performance, and optimization opportunities of the cloud platforms
• Help create and implement data governance structures that ensure adherence and adoption of data policies
• Provide recommendations on cost-avoidance and optimization of cloud environments
• Mentor technical engineers on operationalizing data solutions and ensuring automation through the data value chain
• Champion platform standards, tooling, and processes
• Establish effective organizational structures, anticipating or adopting to a changing environment
• Create impact at all levels of the organization as torch-bearer for data platform engineering principles
• Manage the roles and workflows of a team dedicated to data platform engineering
