Manager, Growth Engineering

Summary

Join Samsara's Growth Engineering team as a leader, scaling our self-serve operations. Leverage data to drive customer acquisition and build seamless online experiences. Lead experiments, MVPs, and product launches using modern web technologies, Python, and JavaScript. Collaborate with product managers and designers, drive roadmapping discussions, and influence initiatives. Contribute to feature development, perform code reviews, and ensure component reliability. This remote US-based role requires strong leadership and full-stack engineering expertise. You will manage a team, mentor engineers, and collaborate on technical strategy. Requirements

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience, including 1+ years of direct people management experience leading a full-stack product development team
• Understands the value of team culture, communication, and collaboration
• Experience developing individual contributors based on their needs and interests, as well as the needs of the company
• Is a technology business partner - recognizes the value in relationships with team members in and out of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of full-stack engineers to deliver customer-driven solutions in a fast-paced environment. The technology stack includes JavaScript, Vue, Python, GraphQL, and various AWS services
• Support the growth of individual engineers on your team through mentoring/coaching and career-pathing
• Collaborate with senior engineers to drive technical strategy
• Set quarterly goals and balance product/engineering priorities for maximum impact
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to develop new products and enhance existing ones
• Drive roadmapping discussions and collaborate with our partners across the organization to influence the direction of our initiatives in a manner that best serves our customers
• Perform code reviews and ensure proper design and delivery of major features
• Be hands-on and contribute to feature development
• Set a high standard for the reliability of your components

Preferred Qualifications

• Has experience building, delivering, and managing large-scale customer-facing products
• Has an interest in understanding our users and what would make their day-to-day processes easier to manage
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one layer of our technical stack (JavaScript, Python)
• AWS knowledge and expertise
• Experience working on Growth Engineering teams and/or solving business growth problems
