Summary
Join Tailscale as a Manager, Solutions Engineering - Commercial to lead a team responsible for guiding customers through the entire customer journey, from pre-sales to post-sales. You will manage and grow a small team, setting high standards for customer evaluations and successful product rollouts. This role requires close collaboration with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, and Support teams. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of management experience and 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role. You will provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on customer needs and stay current on the latest cloud, network, and security technologies.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a management role
- 5+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role such as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or similar
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Familiar with networking and security concepts
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development, and web technologies (cloud architecture, CI/CD, etc)
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a small team, developing their skills, helping advance their careers, and recruiting additional team members
- Set a high standard for your team for customer evaluations and successful rollouts, contributing to new customer acquisition and the expansion of customers
- Work closely with our Sales team to meet and exceed revenue goals
- Collaborate with teams across Tailscale to improve our customer experience, proof of concept process, sales materials, documentation, and more
- Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams on customer needs and product improvements
- Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud, network, and security technologies and trends, and ensure your team invests in education and development
