Requirements

• 15+ years experience covering and editing markets, business, finance, stocks & economics
• Strong desire to field pitches, write and assign breaking news stories, and brainstorm the best ideas with reporters
• Demonstrated experience conceptualizing big ideas and seeing them through
• Analytical ability to cut through the noise and make it intelligible to other people
• A proven track-record managing, recruiting, mentoring, and developing talent
• A commitment to building and nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment
• A belief in Smart Brevity as the core writing style of Axios

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of subject matter experts, editors, and reporters
• Guide coverage priorities, including breaking news, from reporters who support our business-focused newsletters
• Contribute to deeply reported projects on multiple platforms including newsletters, website, video, podcasts, events and social media
• Manage the pipeline of breakthrough business stories pitched to broader Axios AM and Axios PM audiences
• Facilitate collaboration with other editorial teams across the Axios newsroom
