You will conduct market research, analyze competitor landscapes, and identify opportunities to drive business impact. Responsibilities include market sizing, trend analysis, account profiling, competitor analysis, and supporting strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses at least 10 years of professional experience, including 5+ years in market research, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication skills. Experience in strategy consulting or market research agencies is a plus. Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional experience, including 5+ years in market research
- A proven ability to thrive in complex, fast-changing environments
- Strong numerical and analytical skills - you’re comfortable working with unstructured data and extracting meaningful insights
- A strategic mindset with a talent for identifying the “so what” behind the data
- Excellent communication skills in English (Japanese is a plus)
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of specific areas of market intelligence, whether it’s segment insights or account profiling, you’ll lead the charge
- Conduct market sizing and trend analysis across key sectors like Mobility and Data Centers
- Build detailed profiles of global and regional accounts, identifying their strategies, challenges, and where Hitachi can win
- Analyse competitors’ performance, strategies, and product pipelines to inform our positioning
- Support strategic initiatives such as go-to-market planning, M&A scoping, and economic/trade analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed insights into business strategies and foster customer-first thinking
- Present your findings in compelling ways through presentations, workshops, and working sessions with senior stakeholders
- Manage relationships with external research vendors, ensuring high standards and ethical research practices
- Contribute to the evolution of our AI-powered insights tool
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a strategy consultancy or market research agency is a bonus, but not essential
