Requirements

  • Be located preferably in a major city in New York
  • Be comfortable with contract work
  • Have access to a personal computer and the internet
  • Be available to work 30-35 hours a week during the project
  • Be prepared to be involved in personal visits to stores and secondary source information gathering
  • Possess proven proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Show interest in market research and tenacity in the pursuit of information
  • Possess fluency in English
  • Possess excellent time-management, organization, and self-motivation skills
  • Possess flexibility to adapt to unexpected changes in project scope, starting dates, etc

Responsibilities

  • Conduct project-based market research work for project managers based in the US office
  • Conduct personal visits to stores to gather relevant product information
  • Gather secondary source information
  • Address business questions related to sales figures, market share, product potential, and competitive analysis
  • Discuss the industry with key staff
  • Contribute to research projects for top multinationals
